Japanese Hair Straightening or Thermal Reconditioning is a method of permanently straightening and defrizzing hair types that include: overly curly, wavy, frizzy, kinky, colored, highlighted and bleached hair. The process, simultaneously, straightens and repairs the hair by realigning the cystine bonds and improving the structure by sealing in the highest quality of proteins/emollients into the hair through the heat and compression of a flat ironing process.
The leading producers of the Japanese hair straightening or thermal reconditioning systems include Liscio and Yuko systems. I have been educated in both systems, and to date, October 2011, I have successfully completed over 1998 hair straightening procedures in the greater Portland, Oregon area. The quality and results of both systems never cease to amaze me. Japanese Hair traightening or Thermal Reconditioning literally transforms the lives of clients.
The Liscio system, which I use the most, was introduced, manufactured and recieved approval of the Japanese government in 1996 for its unique thermal reconditioning formula. In 1998, it was patented in the United States and, since, has developed the reputation of being the leading Japanese hair straightening or thermal reconditioning system. In contrast, Yuko system was developed in Japan and patented in the United States in 1997. I find Yuko system more effective on coarse, defiant hair.
